Expedition to City Plaza at Paya Lebar, Singapore

Today, we were told that we will be going to city plaza to visit the shops there and the reason for the trip was to find out about the products that they are selling so that we could help them advertise their products on our blog. On the way to City Plaza, everybody was looking forward to our destination. We were also quite nervous about it as we were afraid that the shop owners might chase us out thinking that we are doing something suspicious. During the bus ride, we were taking pictures of ourselves and discussing about what we will do once we reached our destination.

City Plaza

Shops!

A few of us haven’t been to City Plaza therefore it was an eye-opening and pleasant experience for us. Our first impression of City Plaza was that it was an old place and we assumed that the shopping mall were for middle-aged shoppers. When we went window shopping we were amazed that the place actually sold clothes for teenagers too. The place was very quiet and there weren’t a lot of shoppers there. We went to numerous shops and we saw many different types of clothing. Though the type of clothing wasn’t what we expected and liked, we didn’t complain about it because we knew that people have different tastes and choices for the type of clothes they would like to wear. Shopping with our guy classmates was quite interesting and amusing because we could see how they shopped for clothes. We were confident that we would be able to persuade the shop owners in allowing us to help them in their business. Unfortunately one after another the shops denied our requests to assist them. We felt disappointed and demoralized by it but we persevered. The other group helped us as well and we were motivated. Although we got rejected a couple of times, we were still polite to them. In the end, Luela, Boutique Inn as well as Universe Fashion were the three shops that accepted our help.Team work played an important role in this activity as without it one would not be able to complete the task assigned to them. Most of the shop owners were Chinese and they could only speak Mandarin so it was hard for me to understand because I can’t speak Mandarin. It was hard for me to overcome that challenge but I asked my friends what the shop owners meant and I managed to thank the owners in Chinese. I hope that we can help the shop owners advertise their products so more shoppers will come and buy from them. After collecting all the information we went to Mr Pan and we showed him all the pictures we took as well as told him about the problems we faced. We then headed home feeling tired but we were happy that we succeeded in our project.

Day 2!

its only 2 hours of lesson here in Ngee Ann Poly and I've attained more knowledge about E-business and blogging for Business! The lecturer taught us about Javacripts and HTML. I never knew what we could do with it in the past but now i realised it's actually very useful for blogging for business! AEM for E-business dynamics is really getting more and more interesting! Looking forward to more lessons in the future!

Advanced Elective Module! (Jaryl)

Hi everyone! Let me briefly introduce myself! I'm Jaryl and I'm currently celebrating my 15th birthday at Ngee Ann Polytechnic for my class's Advanced Elective Module! For those who don't know, AEM is for students in secondary school to be exposed to certain courses in Polytechnic so that they can have roughly decide where they want to go after graduating from their various Secondary schools.
The module I'm currently doing is E-Business Dynamics! The lecturers and BA Envoys were really welcoming and fun to talk to! I'm looking forward to having fun for the next 4 days of AEM in Ngee Ann Poly!
